Researchers, managers, practitioners, and end-users collaborating on articles capturing community knowledge, expertise, and experience.

The Software Business Encyclopedia provides a forum in which a worldwide group of managers, practitioners and researchers can interact, collaborate, create and archive a unique body of knowledge, and access resources, all addressing the challenges and opportunities for software businesses and the software industry as a whole. The Encyclopedia consists of cross-linked articles on various topics of specific relevance to software businesses and the software industry.

We differ from Wikipedia in that everything we write about deals with issues specific to software business and the software industry, we emphasize both the codification of existing knowledge and the identification of gaps in knowledge that suggest research opportunities, and we encourage article types (practice, case studies, future predictions, etc.) that are not common in Wikipedia. While Wikipedia articles are strong on facts, our articles take up where Wikipedia leaves off and emphasize understanding, perspective, and practical implications.
