Summary

SWBCommunity ("we" / "us") is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. Only standard Web traffic logs are collected from non-registered users. Registered users should acknowledge that any content contributed by them may be permanently visible in the open Internet. Information collected through the registration process is designed to be comprehensive enough to give a reasonably strong guarantee of the user's true identity. We collect and publish this information to assure the quality and credibility of the content on this site.

Information collected by us

Traffic logging

  • Standard Web traffic logs are collected as users browse the site, including IP-addresses and page load requests. These logs are used for the sole purpose of diagnosing errors on the site, and not for any other purpose.
  • We employ a third party site traffic analyzer for the sole purpose of monitoring developments of the site's popularity, especially across geographical regions. We do not use this information to single out individual users. However, the privacy policy of the analytical tool is beyond our control. Information collected during registration

  • During the registration process, the following information is collected from users: first name, last name, degree, email-address, telephone number, affiliate organization, a web link to verify credentials, and a short biography of the user.

Content added by users

  • The site maintains a history log of all page edits by registered users.

How we use your information

All information submitted by the user during registration, with the exception of email address, will be made public on a "member profile page", provided the sign-up request is accepted and an account is created. Email addresses will only be used internally by us for the purpose of managing your account, or to solicit more information to facilitate account creation. Such activities may involve requests for additional background information, sending new passwords upon request, or sending notifications on critical errors involving the site.

All content you contribute through creating pages and editing existing pages is fully public. This may include voluntarily added information to public user profile pages. By doing so, the user acknowledges that this information is available to any party to access via the Internet. We take no responsibility over how other parties use publicly available information, which may include sending unsolicited messages using the "Email" button on the user's profile page.

Transfer and disclosure of information

We will disclose information about individual users to governmental or judicial authorities or law enforcement agencies, if required by law. Otherwise, we do not sell, rent, share, trade or give away any of your personal information. Notably, as specified in this privacy policy, most information you enter onto this site is publicly exposed.

Security of information

We will take reasonable action to protect the privacy of your information. However, we are not responsible for the security of 3rd party complementary service providers, which may include but are not limited to Internet service provides and hosting service providers.

Controlling your personal information

Registered users can modify their personal information at any time by accessing their profile and account pages. The user acknowledges that content posted on pages of this site may be visible indefinitely in the page's edit history. This may also include information on deleted pages.
