Book1v1: Intended audience

Foundations of Software Business: Intended audience
The intended audience for this book is software business researchers, students of software business, and practitioners of software business. One might expect these groups to have very different needs, but in this case these differences are undercut by the very broad interdisciplinary nature of this field. For example, even the most sophisticated and experienced researchers will typically be strongly grounded in only one of the underlying disciplines, and hence with respect to the other underlying disciplines will have needs similar to students. Should there be remaining disagreements on scope, coverage, and approach, the needs of the following type of reader will be taken into account:
The target reader of this book is a graduate student, intelligent and motivated to reach out to new areas, but who does not have an extensive background in more than one of the underlying disciplines of computer science, business and economics, management, the social sciences, etc.
A book targeted at this prototype reader will either avoid disciplinary jargon or define and explain it. It will always begin from grounded principles. It will examine each challenge or opportunity for software firms or the software industry from all the relevant disciplinary perspectives, and integrate these views, as well as incorporate the insights and experiences of practitioners.
